What it does

A ceramic coating chemically bonds to your clear coat and creates a slick, hydrophobic surface. It defends against UV exposure, oxidation, water spots, dirt and everyday contamination, while making routine washing dramatically easier.
Harder to stain. Hard water, bug acid and bird droppings sit on the coating instead of etching your clear coat.
Faster washes. The slick surface releases dirt, so maintenance takes a fraction of the time.

How it works
A coating is not a wax
Wax and sealant sit on top of your paint and wear off. A ceramic coating chemically bonds to the clear coat and becomes part of the surface, which is why it lasts in years rather than months and why the prep underneath it matters so much.
It bonds, it does not sit
Once cured, the coating is the surface your dirt, water and UV hit first. Your clear coat stops being the sacrificial layer.
Hydrophobic means less scrubbing
Water sheets off instead of sitting and evaporating. In a hard-water city that matters more than the gloss does, because standing water is what leaves mineral deposits behind.
It is not body armor
A coating resists chemical etching and makes washing safer. It does not stop rock chips and it will not survive a brush car wash. If impact protection is what you want, that is paint protection film.
Las Vegas specifically
What this climate does to unprotected paint
Las Vegas conditions can be brutal on your vehicle's paint. Intense UV exposure, extreme heat, blowing dust, hard water and environmental contaminants leave a finish looking dull, stained and difficult to maintain.
UV and heat
Ultraviolet light breaks clear coat down from the top. It is what turns a finish chalky and flat, and it works hardest on the horizontal panels that take direct sun all day, which is why hoods and roofs almost always fail before doors do. A coating carries UV inhibitors and takes that load instead of your paint.
Hard water
Southern Nevada tap water is mineral heavy. When it dries on hot paint, the water leaves and the calcium and magnesium stay. Sitting in the sun, those deposits etch a shallow ring into the clear coat. Once it etches, no soap and no spot remover will bring it back, and the fix becomes machine polishing. A hydrophobic coating helps because water sheets off before it can sit and bake.
Dust, sand and monsoon season
Blowing grit is abrasive, and washing a dusty car incorrectly grinds that grit across the paint. A coated surface releases contamination more easily, which means a safer wash and fewer of the wash-induced scratches that make dark cars look hazy.

A coating locks in whatever is underneath it. If the paint has swirls, we correct them first, otherwise you are sealing the defects in for years.

How is this different from a wax or a sealant?
Wax and sealant sit on top of the paint and wear away, which is why our detailing packages quote them in months. A ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat and becomes part of the surface, so it is measured in years and it does not wash off.
Do I still have to wash the car?
Yes, and that surprises people. A coating makes washing faster, safer and less frequent, but a coated car that never gets washed still accumulates contamination that will eventually bond to the coating itself. See our aftercare instructions for the wash method that will not damage it.
Will it stop rock chips?
No. Coatings are chemically hard but microscopically thin, so they do nothing against impact. Rock chips are the job paint protection film does, and the two are commonly combined: film on the high-impact panels, coating over the whole car.
Does my car need paint correction first?
If it has swirls or etching, yes. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so applying one over defects means sealing those defects in for years. We measure and inspect the paint before recommending anything, and if the paint is already in good shape we will tell you that too.
Can you coat wheels too, or just paint?
Both. CS-II ceramic coatings go on paint, and we also coat wheels, either just the faces or a full wheels-off service that coats the barrels and brake calipers as well. Wheels are the one most people underrate, because coated wheels release brake dust instead of baking it on.
Can you coat a brand new car?
Yes, and it is the ideal time, because the paint is at its best condition and correction is usually minimal. New does not mean flawless though. Cars pick up defects in transport and dealer prep, so we still inspect before coating.
